This setting controls the file locking mechanisms of Windows, disable this setting only if you are currently experiencing problems with specific applications.

Open your registry and find the key below.

Create a new Binary value, or modify the existing value called 'SoftCompatMode' using the settings below.

Exit your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.

SoftCompatMode	REG_BINARY	00 00 00 00

Settings:

System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem]
Name: SoftCompatMode
Type: REG_BINARY (Binary Value)
Value: (00 00 00 00 = disabled, 01 00 00 00 = enabled)
